01A Vision Rooted in Opportunity+

Orlando International Fashion Week, also known as OIFW, was founded in April 2014 by Robert "Rob" Henlon, Dr. Jessica Henlon, and Starr Dalton. The founders shared a belief that Central Florida needed a stronger platform where designers, models, artists, performers, photographers, beauty professionals, and other creatives could connect, develop their talents, and present their work to broader audiences.

The roots of OIFW extend to 2013, when Rob and Dr. Jessica Henlon operated Ready Inc., a creative-services company specializing in graphic design, website development, social media, marketing, and promotional support for small businesses.

Ready Inc.'s involvement in fashion began when the company was asked to help a local fashion-design student promote and organize an ambitious runway presentation in Downtown Orlando. As Rob and Jessica researched the local fashion community, they discovered a talented but fragmented creative scene. Many designers, models, artists, photographers, and event professionals were producing meaningful work but were often unaware of one another's projects and opportunities.

During this period, Rob and Jessica met Starr Dalton, who volunteered as a model for the student production and brought valuable knowledge of Orlando's fashion and modeling community. The collaboration contributed to the success of the event and inspired the three partners to create Florida Fashion Weekend, a two-day experience designed to connect local and international designers with venues, audiences, and other creative professionals.

As demand for production assistance increased, Ready Inc. began helping clients with backstage management, team development, event logistics, concerts, stage productions, and fashion shows. Those requests helped lead to the formation of Fierce Entertainment Management, which was initially presented as a related company and production division of Ready Inc. Orlando International Fashion Week became one of Fierce Entertainment's first signature productions.

From the beginning, the objective extended beyond producing attractive events. Fierce Entertainment's early materials described a mission to create memorable, high-quality experiences while increasing designers' visibility and connecting designers, models, photographers, media representatives, buyers, businesses, and audiences. The company's guiding message was clear: Orlando is culturally diverse, Orlando has a fashion community, and Central Florida deserves a place on the map as a destination for fashion and creative entertainment.

02The Founders+

The foundation of Orlando International Fashion Week was strengthened by three founders with complementary backgrounds in strategic leadership, education, psychology, design, fashion, entertainment, and community development.

Robert "Rob" Henlon

Robert "Rob" Henlon brought extensive military and organizational leadership experience to the creation of OIFW. He served for eight years in the United States Army and attained the rank of Sergeant, gaining practical experience in team leadership, operational coordination, accountability, resilience, planning, and decision-making in demanding environments.

Rob later earned a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Warner Southern University and a master's degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.

His combination of military leadership and formal management education has influenced OIFW's strategic planning, organizational structure, logistics, team coordination, risk management, partnership development, and ability to manage complex productions involving numerous participants and stakeholders.

His leadership approach emphasizes preparation, adaptability, accountability, long-range planning, and the ability to bring people with different backgrounds, skills, and perspectives together around a shared objective. These qualities became especially important as OIFW developed from a local creative concept into a recognized fashion, arts, culture, entertainment, and tourism platform.

Dr. Jessica Henlon

Dr. Jessica Henlon holds a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Education.

Her professional perspective brings together educational psychology, learning, human development, confidence-building, leadership, strategic planning, belonging, and personal growth. Her background has helped shape OIFW's emphasis on creating experiences that benefit participants both professionally and personally.

Dr. Henlon's work is grounded in the understanding that people are more likely to grow when they feel welcomed, prepared, supported, and connected to meaningful opportunities. That perspective has influenced OIFW's inclusive casting environment, educational activities, youth-development initiatives, scholarship programs, leadership practices, and commitment to helping participants build confidence and self-efficacy.

Her educational philosophy has also helped OIFW view castings, rehearsals, workshops, volunteer assignments, and live productions as opportunities for learning. Participants are not only being evaluated or presented; they are gaining experience, observing others, receiving guidance, developing professional habits, and learning how to navigate creative environments.

Starr Dalton

Starr Dalton brought a background in interior décor and design, visual presentation, modeling, event coordination, and Orlando's local fashion industry.

While studying interior décor and working at Ethan Allen, Starr developed an interest in fashion through opportunities as a model and event coordinator for a local designer. She gained hands-on experience recruiting designers, models, vendors, photographers, and musical performers for fashion productions.

Starr later worked with a model and talent agency, where she recruited and interviewed talent and helped review and select photographs for model composite cards. Her understanding of aesthetics, visual presentation, styling, model relationships, event coordination, and Orlando's fashion community became an important part of OIFW's identity and development.

Her broader creative experience has included modeling, model training, apparel styling, blogging, pageant judging, art, and event coordination.

Together, Rob, Dr. Jessica Henlon, and Starr Dalton combined strategic leadership, educational insight, psychology, design, talent development, event production, and local industry knowledge to build a platform with a purpose extending far beyond the runway.

03Florida Fashion Weekend & the Development of Fierce Entertainment+

Before the launch of Orlando International Fashion Week, the founders produced Florida Fashion Weekend, a recurring weekend experience created to provide exposure to local and international designers.

The concept partnered fashion with galleries, venues, attractions, designer competitions, cultural programming, and private events. A May 2014 edition included a Mother's Day weekend presentation associated with Jai Gallery and Russian Ballet Orlando. Fierce Entertainment's video archive continues to preserve footage and promotional material from this early period.

Fierce Entertainment also developed and supported other fashion, casting, cultural, and entertainment concepts. Early materials referenced the Caribbean American Fashion Extravaganza, collaborations involving Caribbean American Passport News Magazine, model castings connected to outside productions, and events combining fashion, food, live music, cultural expression, and networking.

These early projects gave the organization experience coordinating designers, models, performers, vendors, businesses, venues, sponsors, photographers, media, and audience experiences. They also demonstrated the founders' early commitment to connecting different areas of Orlando's creative economy.

04The Inaugural Orlando International Fashion Week+

The first Orlando International Fashion Week was presented in November 2014.

The opening press party and fashion presentation took place at the Orlando Museum of Art on November 2, 2014. Contemporary coverage reported that approximately 600 people attended, which museum representatives described at the time as the largest single gathering the museum had hosted.

The opening production included a diverse five-designer runway showcase, independent musical performers, visual art, live entertainment, fashion and media personalities, and representatives from different areas of Florida's creative community.

Ms. International World titleholder Jenny Rosario served as OIFW's ambassador and opening-day emcee. Singer and former The X Factor contestant Lillie McCloud delivered a featured musical performance. Local musicians and independent artists also performed during the evening.

The multicultural character of the inaugural event immediately distinguished OIFW. Media personality Jorge Alvarado praised the visible diversity of the audience and participants, observing that fashion is sometimes treated as though it belongs to only a certain group when it should be available to everyone.

That feedback reflected a principle that would remain central to OIFW's identity: fashion should create connection, representation, access, and opportunity rather than exclusion.

The organization's early video archive also includes interviews with Rob Henlon discussing the 2014 fashion week and OIFW's effort to recognize media supporters, including a presentation associated with WESH's coverage of fashion and the arts.

According to OIFW's published organizational history, the Orlando International Fashion Week name was trademarked in 2015 as the founders continued strengthening and formalizing the identity of the event.

05The 2015 Seven-Day Expansion+

By 2015, Orlando International Fashion Week had developed into a full seven-day calendar of fashion, education, shopping, entertainment, designer development, and networking activities.

The week opened at the Orlando Science Center with a fashion extravaganza, runway presentations, a youth fashion show, shopping opportunities, media participation, business engagement, and live entertainment.

The 2015 calendar promoted a fashion event for every day of the week. Programming included a multiday fashion expo at Orlando Fashion Square Mall, a Sanford-Brown College showcase, Design House 101, a sponsor fashion mixer, the Fashion E.D.G.E. competition, a closing fashion show at the Crowne Plaza Orlando Downtown, and an official after-party.

A 2015 press release described the purpose of the event as celebrating Orlando's growing fashion scene and giving designers, models, hairstylists, makeup artists, boutiques, businesses, media outlets, bloggers, and other participants an opportunity to shine.

At the time, Rob Henlon expressed the organization's belief that Central Florida deserved greater recognition as a destination where residents and visitors could discover and enjoy high-end fashion.

The structure of the 2015 week reflected an early understanding that a successful fashion platform requires more than a single runway show. It requires education, networking, media visibility, shopping, community partnerships, youth engagement, designer development, entertainment, and opportunities for participants to build relationships before and after they enter the runway.

06Civic & State Recognition in 2015+

The 2015 season received written welcomes and expressions of support from state and city leaders.

Florida Senator Geraldine F. Thompson, then representing District 12, welcomed Orlando International Fashion Week attendees to Orlando and Orange County. Her letter highlighted the region's growth, diverse communities, cultural settings, historic venues, attractions, educational opportunities, and entrepreneurial environment. She extended best wishes for the event's success and encouraged attendees to return to Orlando in the future.

Orlando City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart welcomed attendees on behalf of Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council. His letter recognized the Orlando Science Center and Loch Haven Park as gathering places for the arts and expressed appreciation for OIFW's work to bring exposure to Orlando's fashion culture, venues, and attractions. He also wished the organization continued success.

Orlando City Commissioner Regina I. Hill, representing District 5, described Orlando as honored to host the event. Her letter welcomed OIFW's staff, participants, and spectators and recognized the time, work, and energy invested in creating a week of arts and entertainment. She also thanked OIFW for contributing to Orlando's diverse and cultural community and for attracting participants and visitors from different places.

These letters documented an important early milestone. Within its second year, OIFW was being recognized not only as a fashion production, but as an event connected to Orlando's arts, cultural, visitor, business, and tourism communities.

Supporting Autism Awareness and Advocacy

The 2015 Orlando International Fashion Week Extravaganza selected Autism Speaks Central Florida as a beneficiary.

In a written letter, Autism Speaks stated that it was honored to have been chosen and expressed appreciation for the event's efforts to raise funds and awareness. The organization explained that the support of OIFW and its attendees contributed to autism research, advocacy, collaboration, treatment development, and its effort to create a brighter future for individuals and families affected by autism.

Autism Speaks also thanked OIFW's organizers and supporters for their commitment to the autism community and invited attendees to participate in the Central Florida Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

The relationship reflected a principle that would continue throughout OIFW's history: fashion can be used not only to showcase clothing and talent, but also to bring attention to causes, organizations, and communities that deserve greater visibility and support.

07Fashion Without Boundaries+

From its earliest years, Orlando International Fashion Week has promoted the belief that high fashion should not be limited by size, race, gender, age, physical ability, cultural background, economic background, or previous industry experience.

OIFW developed different types of shows and casting opportunities to give participating designers access to audiences that complement their brands while creating space for both first-time and experienced models.

Fashion was combined with live music, visual art, entertainment, photography, beauty, culture, education, tourism, and networking to create an experience broader than a traditional runway presentation.

This inclusive approach has allowed children, teenagers, adults, experienced models, first-time participants, artists, performers, entrepreneurs, students, and creative professionals to take part in meaningful productions.

Designers have been able to present complete collections, while photographers, videographers, hairstylists, barbers, makeup artists, production assistants, performers, volunteers, interviewers, and media professionals have gained opportunities to practice and strengthen their crafts in live environments.

OIFW's commitment to inclusion is not simply a statement about who may appear on a runway. It is a broader belief that more people should have access to creative spaces, professional experience, visibility, mentorship, and the opportunity to discover what they are capable of achieving.

08Fashion EDGE, FEN Social & Fierce Entertainment Studios+
Fashion EDGE: Developing Emerging Designers

As Fierce Entertainment and OIFW expanded, the founders created additional programs designed to support specific areas of the creative community. Fashion EDGE, an abbreviation for the Fashion Emerging Designer Gauntlet Exhibit, was developed as an interactive competition and showcase for emerging designers.

Participating designers presented their collections before live audiences and panels of fashion and industry professionals. Audience engagement and professional evaluation helped determine winning designers, while participating brands gained experience, images, feedback, visibility, and opportunities to strengthen their presentations.

Fashion EDGE productions at locations such as Tier Nightclub gave up-and-coming designers an opportunity to present their strongest work in a professional runway environment. The concept was documented through promotional videos and event recaps from the spring 2016 and spring 2017 seasons.

For designers who had never presented a complete collection, Fashion EDGE provided more than a competition. It introduced them to deadlines, fittings, model coordination, music selection, backstage preparation, runway timing, public feedback, professional photography, media interaction, and the responsibilities involved in presenting a creative brand. The experience helped transform an idea or collection into a public presentation and gave designers an opportunity to be taken seriously as emerging creative business owners.

FEN Social: Connecting Orlando's Creative Community

FEN Social, also known as the Fierce Entertainment Network Social, was created as a recurring networking platform bringing together professionals from fashion, art, music, and entertainment.

The concept created an environment where designers, models, artists, photographers, filmmakers, boutique owners, musicians, dancers, actors, entrepreneurs, and business professionals could meet, present their work, perform, exchange ideas, and form relationships outside a traditional runway setting.

FEN Social events included red-carpet photography, visual art, music, fashion and style presentations, vendors, interviews, performances, and creative networking. Editions were held at venues including Aloft Orlando Downtown, and the concept continued as part of later Orlando International Fashion Week programming. Videos from 2017 document FEN Social as "an entertaining networking event" and show the combination of networking, fashion, art, and music that defined the series.

The longevity of FEN Social reflects one of Fierce Entertainment's central goals: creating places where people from different creative disciplines can discover one another and where a single introduction may lead to a photoshoot, performance, booking, collaboration, friendship, mentorship, or future business opportunity. The Fierce Entertainment YouTube channel describes Fierce as the creator, producer, and owner of FEN Social, Fashion EDGE, and other related entertainment concepts.

Fierce Entertainment Studios

In 2018, Fierce Entertainment expanded its community presence through Fierce Entertainment Studios, a performance, training, production, rehearsal, and event space located inside Orlando Fashion Square Mall.

The studio provided a physical home where models, actors, performers, designers, instructors, students, and community organizations could rehearse, train, produce content, hold fittings, present workshops, and host intimate events. Programming included modeling and acting workshops, runway coaching, fashion-show fittings, children's productions, performance development, posing, casting preparation, model etiquette, self-esteem, and confidence-building.

Public posts document free modeling and acting workshops offered at the studio, supporting the founders' effort to make introductory training and creative development accessible to a broader group of participants. The studio also hosted OIFW fittings and behind-the-scenes designer and model activity, including documented work with participating brands such as Mogul Clothing.

On September 28, 2018, the City of Orlando proclaimed Fierce Entertainment Day, a milestone associated with the studio and recognized by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. In 2019, the Orlando Fashion Square Mall also hosted Fierce Entertainment Fest, a family-oriented celebration incorporating music, dance, visual art, fashion, poetry, and other performing arts.

The studio represented an important chapter in the organization's development. OIFW and Fierce were no longer only bringing people together for major productions; they had created a physical space where creative skills, confidence, and relationships could be developed between events.

09Fashion With a Greater Purpose — The onePULSE Tribute+

Orlando International Fashion Week has repeatedly used fashion as a vehicle for community connection, healing, awareness, education, and cultural expression.

In November 2016, OIFW produced a special runway presentation benefiting the onePULSE Foundation following the Pulse nightclub tragedy. Survivors participated in the fashion presentation, which was developed to honor the 49 lives lost, recognize the strength of survivors, and demonstrate Orlando's unity.

The production showed how a runway could become more than a place to display clothing. It could also become a place of remembrance, pride, visibility, resilience, healing, and shared humanity. The Fierce Entertainment video archive preserves footage from the 2016 Pulse tribute and documents the emotional connection between fashion, community, and the onePULSE mission.

OIFW later continued combining fashion with charitable partnerships, scholarships, international artisan support, educational programs, community organizations, and initiatives designed to expand access to opportunity.

10Documenting the Journey Through Video+

Fierce Entertainment's public YouTube presence provides one of the strongest visual records of the organization's development.

The channel's Orlando International Fashion Week media playlist contains more than 100 videos documenting runway shows, interviews, rehearsals, castings, youth programming, designer features, behind-the-scenes activity, networking events, performances, and event recaps.

The archive includes material connected to Florida Fashion Weekend in 2014; founder interviews discussing the development of Orlando International Fashion Week; the 2016 Orlando International Fashion Week season; the Pulse tribute benefiting onePULSE; Fashion EDGE competitions; FEN Social networking events; youth runway productions; interviews with participating youth models; fall 2017 highlights; spring and fall 2018 recaps; studio fittings; designer behind-the-scenes features; and full-event recap videos.

One fall 2017 video highlights the "Royal Kids" youth fashion presentation, while other videos feature youth-model interviews and youth-show recaps. These recordings demonstrate that youth participation and confidence-building were established parts of OIFW's programming well before the organization's later educational and scholarship initiatives.

The archive also documents the recurring relationship between the public runway and the work that happens behind the scenes: fittings, coaching, rehearsals, interviews, preparation, designer coordination, photography, and content creation. Collectively, the videos show that OIFW's history is not limited to finished photographs from a runway. It includes the learning, effort, relationships, uncertainty, practice, and teamwork required to bring each production to life.

11Fierce Entertainment Live: Extending the Mission Through Media+

During the spring of 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted live events and limited opportunities for performers, artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to connect with audiences, Fierce Entertainment expanded its work into digital broadcasting through Fierce Entertainment Live.

The visual podcast and online talk show became another expression of Fierce Entertainment's commitment to connecting people, elevating diverse voices, and providing creatives with opportunities to share their stories. The program's public archive shows that it was actively producing interviews and featured segments by May 2020, followed by regular full-length episodes and shorter clips distributed through YouTube and social media.

Fierce Entertainment Live was originally hosted by Robert "Rob" Henlon, Dr. Jessica Henlon, Starr Dalton, and DJ Tron, also known as DJ Tronny Blaze. Later episodes also included Matthew Cooley as part of the on-air team. The conversational format allowed each host to contribute a different perspective, combining leadership, psychology, education, design, fashion, entertainment, music, culture, current events, and community engagement.

The show's guiding theme — "Igniting Passion, Overcoming Obstacles, and Empowering Dreams" — closely reflected the larger mission of Fierce Entertainment and Orlando International Fashion Week. Rather than limiting its coverage to fashion, the program created space for guests to discuss their personal journeys, professional challenges, creative projects, businesses, community service, and the determination required to pursue meaningful goals.

A Platform for Diverse Voices

Fierce Entertainment Live welcomed guests from fashion, music, radio, government, business, education, health, faith, film, performing arts, youth development, and community leadership.

Early episodes highlighted the ways creatives were adapting during the pandemic. Fashion designer David President of DPA Attire presented custom fashion masks during the first episode, while Lu Isasi, known for appearing on Project Runway Junior, discussed and displayed custom masks during the second episode.

The program also featured performers and entertainers including mentalist Keith Kong, singer Jacob Eaddy, singer-songwriter JTXL, and coach and motivational speaker Michaela Logue. Radio and media personalities appearing on the program included JoJo O'Neal of Star 94.5 FM, as well as Danie B. and DJ Kevin Kon of Power 95.3 FM.

The program also welcomed public officials and civic leaders. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings appeared during Episode 17 and joined Team Fierce in sharing personal memories and community-centered conversation. Additional episodes featured entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, healthcare professionals, event producers, actors, directors, designers, beauty professionals, and community advocates, including Meka King, Dustin Huffman, Kia Divine, Deja, Roman Tilus, and Tee Rainer.

Encouraging the Next Generation

Fierce Entertainment Live also provided visibility to young artists, performers, authors, and entrepreneurs, including teenage DJ DJ Xavage, along with a young author and illustrator. By welcoming younger guests into a professionally produced interview environment, the show reinforced Fierce Entertainment's belief that age should not prevent talented individuals from being recognized, heard, and encouraged.

These appearances gave young participants more than online exposure. They provided experience answering interview questions, explaining their work, presenting themselves to an audience, and seeing their accomplishments treated with professional respect.

Conversation, Entertainment & Community

The format of Fierce Entertainment Live combined structured interviews with entertainment, audience interaction, trending topics, personal reflections, and informal conversation. Segments led by Starr Dalton explored beauty, photography, modeling, hairstyles, braids, wigs, fashion, and popular culture.

Other episodes included themed conversations, birthday programs, current-event discussions, audience questions, demonstrations, musical performances, games, and lifestyle topics — including a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Edition connecting the platform with conversations about leadership, community, service, and Dr. King's legacy.

Continuing the Conversation

The original run of Fierce Entertainment Live grew to include at least 64 numbered episodes, along with individual interviews, highlights, preview clips, and shorter segments. The program later continued through updated podcast programming featuring Rob Henlon, Dr. Jessica Henlon, and Starr Dalton, including conversations with musician Nova Novais and Mark Hulsewe.

For Rob, Dr. Jessica Henlon, and Starr Dalton, the program created an opportunity to bring their individual perspectives directly to viewers — leadership and strategy, psychology and belonging, and fashion and lifestyle, respectively. Most importantly, Fierce Entertainment Live extended the organization's mission beyond the physical runway, demonstrating that opportunity can begin with a camera, a thoughtful question, and a platform willing to listen.

12Creating Pathways for Models & Creative Professionals, and Education & Scholarships+

A defining part of OIFW's history has been its commitment to giving people opportunities to begin, rebuild, or advance their creative journeys. For some participants, OIFW has provided a first runway; for others, it has been the first time they presented an original collection, worked backstage, or saw their work promoted through professional media.

A 2023 casting at ICON Park attracted more than 100 aspiring models and performers, reuniting several former "Fierce Kids." In September 2025, more than 200 models attended an OIFW casting at AFRO TV Studios, connected to both fashion week and additional film and entertainment opportunities. In April 2026, OIFW welcomed hundreds of aspiring and experienced models to CityArts Gallery during two casting weekends, with more than 20 photographers and videographers building portfolios and documenting the experience.

The 2026 casting environment was designed to be structured, supportive, and welcoming — first-time participants included, returning talent recognized, families present, and team members providing direction and encouragement. The experience reflected a core OIFW philosophy: confidence grows through preparation, encouragement, visibility, successful participation, and a sense of belonging.

Education, Scholarships & Talent Development

In 2023, OIFW announced a partnership with the Aveda Institute Orlando to connect beauty education with fashion-industry experience. Aveda students, faculty members, and professionals participated in a beauty showcase and contributed hair design, barbering, and cosmetic services to OIFW programming. The partnership also created scholarship, networking, mentorship, volunteer, and experiential-learning opportunities for aspiring cosmetology and barbering professionals.

OIFW later presented a $1,500 Cosmetology and Barbering Scholarship to Aveda Institute Orlando student Taylor Pizzulo during a special event at Bang & Olufsen Winter Park, recognizing her dedication and representing OIFW's effort to reduce educational financial barriers while supporting emerging professionals.

These initiatives demonstrate that the people behind the runway are as important as the people who walk on it. OIFW's educational approach also recognizes that creative development includes more than technical skills — it includes preparation, work ethic, communication, confidence, self-esteem, body language, reflection, leadership, teamwork, and the ability to respond professionally to feedback.

13An International Platform Rooted in Orlando+

Although firmly rooted in Central Florida, Orlando International Fashion Week has welcomed designers, models, artists, performers, and participants from numerous states, countries, and territories — including Argentina, the Bahamas, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and communities throughout the United States.

Past venues have included the Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando Science Center, Orlando City Hall Rotunda, Orange County Regional History Center, CityArts Gallery, Aloft Orlando Downtown, Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, ICON Park, Porsche South Orlando, Crowne Plaza Orlando Downtown, AC Sky Bar, Altira Pool and Lounge, Winter Park Events Center, Fierce Entertainment Studios, TIER Nightclub, Castle Hotel, Wyndham Orlando Resort, and other locations throughout the region.

These venues have allowed OIFW to present fashion in museums, galleries, hotels, rooftops, cultural spaces, entertainment districts, retail destinations, civic buildings, studios, and event centers — supporting OIFW's broader goal of using fashion and entertainment to promote cultural exchange, tourism, education, business activity, and economic opportunity while strengthening Orlando's identity as a destination for creative industries.

14Renewal & Continued Growth+

Like much of the live-events industry, Orlando International Fashion Week was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and temporarily paused or reduced portions of its operations.

The pause gave the organization an opportunity to reconsider its structure, community mission, leadership practices, and long-term direction. Starr Dalton later described the period as an important transition that strengthened OIFW's emphasis on diversity, inclusion, creative opportunity, community engagement, tourism, and philanthropy.

When expanded programming returned, OIFW continued developing runway presentations, networking events, castings, education, scholarship initiatives, designer showcases, youth opportunities, and partnerships with media, arts, cultural, film, beauty, and community organizations.

15Ten Years of Fashion, Art & Community+

Orlando International Fashion Week celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024.

The anniversary season featured runway presentations, youth and teen programming, fashion networking, live art, rooftop events, performances, and experiences at several Orlando venues, including CityArts Downtown, Aloft Orlando Downtown, Altira Pool and Lounge, and the Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando. The season brought together local and international designers, performers, artists, journalists, emcees, sponsors, creative professionals, and community partners.

The tenth anniversary was not only a celebration of the founders. It recognized the designers, models, performers, sponsors, volunteers, photographers, videographers, venues, media outlets, production professionals, and audience members whose participation helped sustain OIFW through its first decade.

City of Orlando multicultural-affairs leader Luis Martinez publicly observed that fashion can connect communities and stimulate economies, describing OIFW's decade of activity as evidence of that impact.

16Partnerships & an Expanding Creative Network+

As OIFW entered its second decade, it continued strengthening relationships across fashion, media, education, film, culture, civic engagement, tourism, beauty, entertainment, and the arts.

Collaborations have included Florida National News, the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, the Puerto Rican Heritage Network, AFRO TV, the Global Peace Film Festival, Aveda Institute Orlando, Downtown Arts District, CityArts, the Orlando Museum of Art, and additional community and creative organizations.

These relationships have helped connect fashion with journalism, film, live performance, cultural heritage, education, tourism, beauty, television, visual art, and community storytelling — creating opportunities for models, designers, performers, filmmakers, journalists, students, photographers, videographers, beauty professionals, and other participants to engage with audiences beyond a traditional runway show.

OIFW's partnership with the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival added an avant-garde fashion presentation to the festival's 35th-anniversary programming, further connecting fashion with theatre and experimental performance. The organization's continued relationship with the Global Peace Film Festival and AFRO TV has expanded casting and networking opportunities across fashion, film, television, and live-streamed programming.

17"626 Euphoria" & Formal Recognition+

In June 2026, Orlando International Fashion Week presented "626 Euphoria," a signature production at the Winter Park Events Center. The event brought together designers, models, performers, businesses, community representatives, media, cultural leaders, and invited civic officials in a celebration of fashion, entertainment, creativity, and cultural pride.

During the event season, OIFW received "A Tribute" presented by Florida State Representative Johanna López, District 43, bearing the seal of the Florida House of Representatives.

The tribute recognized Orlando International Fashion Week as a leading platform for fashion, arts, culture, and tourism in Central Florida. It acknowledged the organization's role in showcasing creativity, innovation, and diversity while helping elevate Orlando's reputation as a vibrant international destination.

The tribute also recognized that OIFW was founded in 2014 by Robert Henlon, Dr. Jessica Henlon, and Starr Dalton to unite and celebrate designers, models, artists, and creative professionals while promoting inclusion and opportunity within the fashion industry. It commended OIFW's blending of fashion, beauty, music, art, education, and philanthropy and recognized the organization's contributions to cultural expression, community engagement, economic growth, educational initiatives, and scholarships for aspiring fashion and beauty professionals.

The tribute further acknowledged the dedication of OIFW's volunteers, board members, sponsors, and community partners and recognized their role in strengthening Orlando's creative economy and enhancing the region's standing as a destination for arts, culture, and innovation.

"626 Euphoria," held June 5–7, 2026, was specifically recognized for bringing together talented designers, performers, businesses, and community leaders in a dynamic celebration of style, creativity, and cultural pride. The tribute concluded by recognizing and commending Orlando International Fashion Week and "626 Euphoria" for their contributions to fashion, arts, culture, tourism, education, and community engagement in Orlando and throughout the State of Florida.

18Public Reception & Participant Experiences+

Throughout its history, Orlando International Fashion Week has received positive feedback from designers, models, performers, volunteers, parents, audience members, media representatives, educators, civic leaders, nonprofit partners, and community organizations.

The inaugural 2014 event was praised for the diversity visible among its audience and participants. The 2015 civic letters recognized the event's cultural, artistic, visitor, and community value. Autism Speaks expressed appreciation for OIFW's support of awareness, research, and advocacy. The Pulse tribute was remembered for creating a space centered on remembrance, strength, healing, and unity.

Later castings and productions have been described as welcoming environments in which first-time participants could feel supported enough to try, returning models could feel valued, and photographers and videographers could build their portfolios while participating in an active creative community.

The most meaningful feedback is often found in the personal experiences of participants: the model who gained confidence, the designer who presented a first complete collection, the student who received financial assistance, the volunteer who gained practical experience, the performer who reached a new audience, or the photographer who developed new professional relationships.

19The Impact of an Opportunity+

The history of Orlando International Fashion Week cannot be measured only by the number of shows produced, venues used, models cast, collections presented, videos recorded, or tickets distributed. Its deeper impact can be seen in the individual stories created along the way:

A first-time model discovering the confidence to walk a runway. A young participant learning preparation, etiquette, discipline, and self-belief. A designer seeing an original collection presented before a live audience. A photographer or videographer building a stronger portfolio. A beauty student receiving financial support for an education. A performer reaching a new audience. A volunteer gaining practical experience that contributes to another opportunity. A creative professional forming a relationship that leads to a future collaboration. A survivor walking in a production centered on remembrance, pride, unity, and healing.

OIFW does not claim sole responsibility for any individual's success. Careers are built through talent, preparation, perseverance, relationships, education, and many opportunities over time. However, Orlando International Fashion Week is proud to have served as an important launchpad, learning environment, and stepping-stone for people who needed a place to begin, a place to develop, a place to be seen, or a place to take their next professional step.

20Our Continuing Legacy+

Since 2014, Orlando International Fashion Week has grown from a shared vision among three founders into a broad creative platform serving designers, models, artists, performers, students, entrepreneurs, businesses, media professionals, educators, cultural organizations, and community partners.

Its continuing purpose remains grounded in the principles that inspired its creation: to expand opportunity, celebrate individuality, encourage professional growth, promote cultural expression, connect creative communities, strengthen Orlando's creative economy, support tourism, and help people recognize what is possible when they are given a meaningful chance to participate.

Its legacy is reflected not only in its runway productions, but also in the people whose confidence grew, whose work was seen, whose professional networks expanded, whose education was supported, and whose journeys moved forward because someone gave them an opportunity.

Today, Orlando International Fashion Week, a Fierce Entertainment initiative, continues to build upon more than a decade of fashion, leadership, education, entertainment, media, culture, tourism, and community engagement.

"We believe fashion and entertainment can do more than entertain. They can build confidence, develop talent, inspire leadership, preserve stories, unite communities, create opportunities, and help people take the next step toward their future."
